Grief Counseling

We believe that our role does not end at the conclusion of the funeral service, nor does the grief of the bereaved come to an end that quickly.  Grief is an ongoing reaction to a tragic event that has happened in our lives.

For the convenience of our community, we have a number of videos, books and brochures on hand to help those coping with a loss.  Feel free to contact the funeral home at any time to speak to one of the funeral directors on hand to assist you in attaining the help you need.

The funeral home offers occasional "special events" to help the families of our community coping with grief, through seminars and special services.  Check back often for updates on upcoming events.

Eaton Funeral Home
Christmas Service of Remembrance

Our annual Christmas Service of Remembrance will be held on Sunday, December 11, 2011 at Listowel Evangelical Missionary Church.

We host this annual event to assist those whom we have served, as well as those whom we have not served, during this very emotional time of year.  All are welcome to attend.

This is NOT another funeral, but rather a short, uplifting service of remembrance, strength and sharing.  At the conclusion of the service, refreshments are served in the church hall, and we prepare a Christmas tree ornament in memory of those we have served over the past year.

Doug Manning's New Grief Forum

Doug Manning has been one of the most prominent speakers and authors in the grief counseling field since he started work in this area in 1982.  Prior to that, he was a minister for 30 years. Doug's company, InSight Books, has launched its latest tool to help families through the grieving process.  It is called the Care Community.  Here you can read articles written by Doug, including his blog, and you can participate in the various forums.  To find out more, visit the Care Community section on grief by clicking on the link below.
