Pre-arrangement Information

We begin by collecting information.  This can be done here at the funeral home, or in the comfort of your own home.

When a death occurs, the funeral home must collect information from the family for various forms and government documents.  By getting this information recorded before a death occurs, it saves the family from having to hunt up the information required at a time that is already most difficult for them.

Information required is:

Full name
Address
Date of Birth
Place of Birth
Social Insurance Number
Spouse's Name
Father's Name
Father's Place of Birth
Mother's Maiden Name
Mother's Place of Birth
Occupation

This is some of the personal information that we need to collect, but you can imagine that at the time of a death in the family, when the family is struggling to deal with the loss while having to contact others in the family and circle of friends, the last thing they need is to have to sort through documents looking for Social Insurance Numbers and other such items.  For this reason, pre-arranging your funeral can be as simple as getting this information written down on file with the funeral home now so your loved ones don't have to worry about it later.

However, most people choose to go further with their pre-arrangements.  Your pre-arranegement can be as simple as collecting the information listed above, or as in depth as selecting your own casket, discussing the type of service that best suits your life and the legacy that you want to have remembered, selecting music that you wish played at your service, etc.  How far you take it is up to you.  We are hear to listen to your ideas, offer suggestions, and record your wishes for the family.
