Velma Morphy ~ Peacefully at Stratford General Hospital, with Marie, Debbie, and Jackee by her side on Monday, November 5, 2012, Mrs. Velma Laverne (Scott) Morphy of Stratford, and formerly of Listowel, in her 80th year. Beloved wife of the late Tom Morphy. Dear mother of Marie Blackwell (Jim) of Stratford, Dennis Morphy of Florida, and Debbie Duval (Dave) of Mitchell. Grandmother of Joe Blackwell (Krista), Jackee Wall (Kurt), Jesse Duval, Sammi Duval, Chelsea Clipson, and Dallas Morphy (Lisa). Great-grandmother of Brinlee Wall and Colby Morphy. Sister of Barb and Joe Currie, and Bill and Dorothy Scott all of Listowel, Lawrence Scott of Goderich, and Earl and Anita Scott of London, and aunt to several nieces and nephews. Also fondly remembered by her cherished friend Lorna.
Predeceased by her parents Fred and Tressia (Clayton) Scott, son Joey Morphy, and brothers Doug Scott and Stan Scott.
Velma is dearly remembered by the never ending list of children she helped raise as foster children for over 35 years who will always consider her their mother, as well as many foster grandchildren and foster great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Saturday, November 10th from 10:00 a.m. until time of the Celebration of Life at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel followed by a time to reflect and share at a reception at Knox Presbyterian Church, Listowel. Memorial donations to North Perth Community Hospice or OSPCA would be appreciated.
