At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Tuesday, December 27, 2005, Mrs. Jean Agnes (Helmka) Eckel of Listowel, in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Samuel Eckel. Dear mother of Neil Eckel of Tottenham, Ruth and Wayne Thompson of Listowel, and Mary and Dwight Ward of R.R.5, Mitchell. Grandmother of Dr. Lisa Eckel and Paul Lehrman of Florida, Stephen Thompson and Jason Thompson, both of Listowel, Heather Pulles of St. Columban, and Keegan Ward of R.R.5, Mitchell. Great-grandmother of Zoey and Brody Pulles. Sister of Neil and Madeline Helmka of Listowel, and Isabel Turney of Stittsville, and sister-in-law of Alma Helmka of Listowel.
Predeceased by her sisters Leona Clarke, Mae Dean, Grace Lane, Nelda O'Grady, and Eunice Arthur, and her brothers William Helmka and Robert Helmka.
A private graveside service will be held at Fairview Cemetery, Listowel in the spring. Memorial donations to Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
