Obituary for Ernie Bonsma
Ernie Bonsma ~ Surrounded by his family, at The Village at University Gates, Waterloo, on Thursday, October 20, 2016, Mr. Ernie (Auke) Bonsma of Listowel, in his 76th year.
Husband of Corrie (nee Hiemstra) Bonsma.
Father of Randy and Lori-Anne Bonsma of Listowel, Henry and Carla Bonsma of Kitchener, Steven and Angela Bonsma of Seattle, and Patricia and Gordon Versteeg of Wingham.
Pake of Tyler, Bethany, Jannelle, Kae-Lynn, Mahlia, Elliana, Salvatore, Marco, Caleb, Jayden, and Rain.
Brother of Daan Bonsma of Listowel, and Gre Dwarswaard, Anne Oppedijk, Rein and Simone Bonsma, and Siebren and Anneke Bonsma all of the Netherlands, and brother-in-law of Anne Bonsma of Gravenhurst. Ernie will be remembered by Corrie’s family and by his many nieces and nephews.
Predeceased by his parents Reinder and Akke (Stellingwerf) Bonsma and by his siblings Froukje Hoekstra, John Bonsma, Janny Feenstra, Harry Bonsma, and Andy Bonsma.
Please join Ernie’s family for a casual visitation at the Listowel Kin Station on Sunday from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m.
The funeral service will be held at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Listowel, on Monday, October 24th at 1:00 p.m. with reception to follow. Pastor Ralph Wigboldus officiating.
Memorial donations to Spinal Cord Injury Ontario, or Make-A-Wish Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
