Obituary for Florence Simpson

Florence Simpson ~ At United Mennonite Home, Vineland, on Saturday, January 28, 2017, Mrs. Florence Iowna Jean (Donaldson) Simpson, of Vineland and formerly of Listowel, in her 98th year.

Wife of the late David Simpson (1998). Mother of Janice Dauphinee (Hillar Lilles) of St. Catharines and David Simpson (Janet) of San Diego.

Loved also by her grandchildren Mark Dauphinee (Nicole), and Lara Dauphinee, all of British Columbia, and Amy Simpson Howrigan (Michael), and Andrew Simpson, all of San Diego, and her great-grandchildren Ryan Dauphinee of British Columbia, and Elle Howrigan of San Diego.

Predeceased by her parents Alexander and Bessie (Bell) Donaldson, brother Alex Donaldson, and sisters Thelma Spear and Vera Scouller.

Florence was born in Toronto in 1919, and married her soul mate "Bud" in 1940. Their greatest adventure was moving from Toronto to Molesworth and were the very respected and well loved Molesworth General Store owners. Florence was an excellent pie maker, bridge player, knitter and poet. She took up the game of golf with Bud in her later years and loved the sport.

A Celebration of her Life will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Saturday, May 13th from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. with words of sharing at 3:30 p.m.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation, or St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church, Molesworth would be appreciated.
