Mr. Lyle G. Bender of Listowel, went home to be with his Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of the late Edith (Benson) Bender who predeceased him on March 27, 2017. Dear father of Sharon and John Ellison of R.R.#3, Listowel Ontario, and Marilyn and Sean Hawley of Haliburton, Ontario. Grandfather (and great-grandfather) of David and Betty Ellison (Kaitlyn, Carson, Colton, Kenzie, and Kolby), Andrew 'Chuck' and Lisa Ellison (Ashton and Blake), Michael and Kayleen Ellison (Reese, Paige, and Emmett), Amanda Ellison, Nicole and Alex Hamilton (Cole), Wade Hawley, Lindsay Hawley, Hillary Hawley and fiancé Steven Bridge, Jillian Hawley, Victoria Hawley, and Rory Hawley. Brother of Audrey and Peter McFarlane of Mississauga. Brother-in-law of Janet 'Jean' Holliday, and Phyllis and Eldon Lehman, all of Guelph, and Bill and Hazel Sullivan of Oakville. Predeceased by his granddaughter Carolle Ellison, brother Laverne (Dorothy) Bender, sister Lois (Ross) Douglas, sister-in-law Audrey Sullivan, brothers-in-law William (Julia) Benson, Art Holliday, and by 3 sons and 2 grandsons, all in infancy.

Visitation will be held at the Listowel Mennonite Church on Monday, November 27, 2017 from 12:30 pm until the time of the funeral service at 2:00 pm. Pastor Gary Goodkey officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
