Obituary for David Mallard

David  Mallard
David Mallard ~ It is with heavy hearts we announce that David Edward Mallard of Listowel, died peacefully at Royal Terrace, Palmerston, on Saturday, July 7, 2018, in his 80th year.

Husband of the late Barbara (Burton) Mallard.

He leaves behind his children Damian & Karen Mallard of Ariss, and Pauline & Chuck Binning of Listowel, his grandchildren Jake Mallard, and Curtis Mallard, both of Ariss, Brett & Julie Binning of Lucknow, Mary & Ben Reynolds of Listowel, and Luke Binning of Calgary, and his great-grandchildren Knox Binning, and Ryder Reynolds.

Left to mourn are his siblings Pat & Beth Mallard, Mary & Karl Davis, Cyril Mallard, Maureen Johnson, Edward & Rita Mallard, and Barbara & Gary Phillips, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents John and Ellen (Cunningham) Mallard, brothers Jim, Jackie, and Gerald, and sisters Margaret Doucette, Joan Dwyer, and Eileen Murray.

David was born and raised in St. John’s, Newfoundland before moving to Ontario with his beloved Barbara, where they married and started their family. Dave was an OPP officer for 33 years, retiring in 1997.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel, on Wednesday, July 11, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Palmerston Hospital Foundation would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
