Obituary for Aalt Van Donkersgoed

Aalt Van Donkersgoed of Listowel passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Saturday, October 19, 2019, in his 83rd year.

Loving husband of Sandra Van Donkersgoed.

Pops of Debbie (Lammert) Smallenbroek, Edward (late Elka) Visser, and Greg (Shannon) Visser.

Grandfather of Cassy (Matt) Wilkins, Arian (Ashley) Smallenbroek, Steffon (Erin) Smallenbroek, Roman Visser, Andrew (Leah) Visser, Phillip (Allison) Visser, Hannah Visser, and Olivia Huras, and great-grandfather of Lucas, Haley, Amelia, and Abby.

Brother of Bertus (late Grace) Van Donkersgoed, Klaas (Muriel) Van Donkersgoed, and Gerrie (late Tony) Van Hell, and brother-in-law of Ann Van Donkersgoed, and Tony Mohle. Remembered by many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Predeceased by his brothers Gys (Mijnie), and Gerrit, and sister Janet Mohle.

Aalt was born in Putten, Netherlands. He immigrated to Canada in 1947 and settled in Brandon, Manitoba. In 1963, Aalt moved to Ontario where he farmed in Wallace Township until 2000. He will always be known for his quick wit, humour, and his love of John Deere tractors. He will be missed and loved by all who knew him.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, 385 Main St. W., Listowel on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Listowel Pentecostal Church, (5629 Perth Line 86 East, Listowel), on Friday, October 25th at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Henry Steenbergen officiating.

Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
