Obituary

Ron McClement passed away on Friday December 7, 2018 with family by his side at Victoria Hospital, London, in his 76th year.

Born March 3,1943, the fourth child of seven, Ron was born and raised in Howick Township to the late Tom and Mary (Jacques) McClement.

He started his carpentry career with Shantz and Hicks where he acquired his carpentry trade. Ron was a hard-working entrepreneur who then formed his own company, Listowel Holdings Limited which he continued to successfully run until his final days. His legacy of quality workmanship can be found throughout the Huron-Perth area. Ron thoroughly enjoyed his business connections and interactions.

He married Marg (Wilson) McClement on August 21, 1965. They raised two children, Sandra (Pete) King of Fordwich, and Tom (Melissa) McClement of Thunder Bay. He was the very proud grandfather of Braden, Tucker, and Landis King, and Jack and Claire McClement.

Brother to Glen (Pat) McClement, Gary McClement, and Betty Schaefer, all of Listowel, and Ken (Denise) McClement of Kincardine.

Brother-in-law of Barbara McClement of Listowel, Norman (Bonnie) Wilson, Wray (Deb) Wilson, all of Fordwich, and Lorne (Deb) Wilson of Fergus, and remembered by many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his brothers Bruce (Anna) McClement, and Fraser McClement, brother-in-law Paul Schaefer, and sister-in-law Jean McClement.

Ron strived to make the community he lived in a better place. He was an active member of the Fordwich Masonic Lodge 331, Pal-Mocha Shriner Club, the Howick Optimist Club and the Fordwich United Church.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with a Masonic Memorial Service to follow at 9:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Fordwich United Church on Wednesday, Dec.12th at 2:00 p.m.

Interment in Fordwich Cemetery. Reception to follow at Howick Community Centre.

Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital or London Health Sciences Foundation would be appreciated.
