Obituary for Henk Boer
Hindrikus Jantinus ‘Henk’ Boer ~ went home to his Lord and Saviour, after a long battle with cancer, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Thursday, January 10, 2019. He was 72.
Beloved husband of Margaret (Loopers) Boer for 50 years. Dear father of Grace and Gerald Schipper of Aylmer, John and Corrie Boer of Atwood, Gary Boer of Listowel, Henry and Jetske Boer of Atwood, and Mariska and Carl Pelkmans of Listowel.
Loving Opa of Henri (Katie), Marenda (Matt), Gerard, Alyssa, Jessica, Janneke, Michael, Anita, Mariska, Heidi, Lucas, Jordan, Marcia, Trevor and Great-Grandfather of Jude, Blythe, and Marcus.
Brother of Aly Kuitert (late Simon), and brother-in-law of Henk (Albertje), Aaldert (Ria), late Lucas (Lummie), Martie (Chris Oosterink), Aagje (Gerrit vanFaassen), Arend (Annie), and Tieme, all of The Netherlands.
Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews.
Henk was born in The Netherlands on October 24, 1946, the son of the late Gerrit and Grietje (Eisen) Boer, and son-in-law of the late Jan and Hendrikje (Otten) Loopers. He loved farming and had many hobbies. His greatest joy was his family and friends.
Friends may call at Bethel Christian Reformed Church, Listowel, on Sunday from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., where the funeral service will be held on Monday, January 14th at 11:00 a.m.
Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
Memorial donations to Grand River Regional Cancer Centre, Victoria Hospital, London, or Listowel Christian School would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
