Obituary for Anne Grubb

Anne Catherine (Runstedler) Grubb of Listowel, and formerly of Newry, passed away at Stratford General Hospital, on Friday, January 22, 2021, in her 94th year.

Loved and devoted wife of Walter Grubb.

Dearly loved sister of Wilfred & Theresa Runstedler of Kitchener, and Herbert & Linda Runstedler of Monkton, and sister-in-law of Ann Runstedler of Linwood, Doris Runstedler of St. Jacobs, and Anne Ward of Ingersoll.

Anne was the cherished Godmother of Steve Runstedler, Richard Wilhelm, and Patty Collie, and will be missed and remembered by her many nieces and nephews, Walter’s family, and their good friends at The Village, Listowel.

Predeceased by her brothers Andrew, Vincent, Alvin, and Ralph, and sisters Mary Cashubec and her husband Joe, and Helen Vilaca and her husband Fernando.

Anne was born in Linwood on October 8, 1927 to Herbert & Agnes (Diebolt) Runstedler. She married Walter Grubb on October 12, 1968. Anne was a long-time and faithful parishioner at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church and a member of the C.W.L. Anne was an avid quilter and gifted her many quilts to both her family and to many church fundraising events. She enjoyed playing cards in clubs and with her family and friends.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Joseph’s Roman Catholic Church, Listowel, on Wednesday, January 27th at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Vargees Devas officiating. Please do not attend due to COVID restrictions. Instead, the service will be live-streamed and we ask you to watch safely from your home.

Anne’s family is grateful for the love and care Anne received from her nieces and nephews, Dr. Terry Suggitt, and the staff at Caressant Care, Listowel, and for the prayers, visits, and communion provided by Father Keith Morrison and Anne’s church family at St. Joseph’s.

Memorial donations to Caressant Care Residents’ Council, St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Listowel, or the V.O.N. would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
