Obituary for Betty Weltz

Elizabeth Katie ‘Betty’ (Lizzie) Weltz was called home into the Lord’s waiting arms on Sunday, October 16, 2022 in her 100th year.

Betty was born to Jacob and Annie (nee Braun) Fischer on November 4th, 1922 on a farm near Ayton, Ontario, the 4th daughter of their six children.

Betty married her beloved husband Harvey Weltz (2009) on September 21st, 1944 and together they built a humble life on the foundations of faith and love.

Our mother, grandmother and great-grandmother was the most beautiful combination of sunshine, never-ending love, infinite joy, and above all unwavering faith. She was gracious and humble, and we were all so blessed to have loved and been loved by her. Her faith abides and her love sustains us as we take comfort in knowing that she is once again with her dear husband Harvey, and together they are safe in the arms of Jesus.

Betty is survived and cherished beyond measure by her daughters Joan Weltz, and Joyce (Fred) Fitt; her loving granddaughters Catherine (Jerry) Corcoran, and Alison (Rob) Fitt; and each of her precious great-grandchildren, Jesse (Alyssa), Jereelyn, Adelaide, Charlotte, and Evelyn.

Fondly remembered by her brother Ivan Fischer, sister-in-law Madeline Weber, and her many nieces and nephews who all held a dear place within her heart.

Betty is predeceased by her husband Harvey, and sisters Florence, Adeline, Viola and Gertie.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Community Hall, Neustadt, on Wednesday, October 19th from 10am until time of the funeral service at 11a.m. Pastor Pamela McNeil officiating.

Interment in St. Paul’s Lutheran Cemetery, Normanby Township.

Memorial donations to North Perth Community Hospice or a charity of one’s choice would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
