Obituary for Bill Salter
William ‘Bill’ Thomas Salter of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, November 11, 2022, in his 94th year.
Bill will be remembered by his nieces and nephew, Fern and Rob Fleming of Copper Cliff, Donald Kennedy of Woodstock, and Jean Hurst of Strathroy. Also survived by his cousin Karen & Calvin Wenzel of Palmerston as well as other cousins, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews
He was predeceased by his parents Emerson and Dora (Loughran) Salter, sisters Violet (Kennedy) Archer, and Ruby Hurst, brother Jim Salter, and by Don’s wife Maryanne Rathy and Don’s daughter Crystal Lee-Kennedy.
Bill was born and raised on the 4th of Wallace where, after his parents retired, Bill took over the farm and continued farming until he came to Listowel in 2004. Bill always lived his life on his own terms and never asked much of anyone.
Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday, November 21, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. until time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
