Obituary for Brad Annett

It is with great sadness that the family of Bradley Grant Annett of Gunn, Alberta and formerly of Dresden, Ontario announce his unexpected passing on Saturday, April 23, 2022, in his 53rd year.

Brad was born in November 1969, the third child of Ross and Ilene (Babcock) Annett and was lucky enough to be raised on their family farm at Tupperville, Ontario where he learned the value of hard work, an appreciation of good livestock and a love of the land.

He spoke proudly of participating in the Lambton 4H Beef Club and continued to support 4H for the rest of his life. One of his proudest accomplishments was being named "top county member" on more than one occasion. A love of agriculture followed him throughout the rest of his life and he later served as a Director of both the Moore Agriculture Society and the Alberta Limousin Association.

After graduating from Lambton-Kent Composite School he worked at Phair Systems and then Navistar International for 16 years. In 2007, along with his wife, Jennifer Annett (nee Horn) whom he married in September 1998, fulfilled a dream by moving west and establishing a purebred Limousin cattle herd at Rich Valley, Alberta. In the last few years of his life, in addition to his own farm he worked as a herdsman for Lewis Farms at Sangudo, Alberta operation.

He is survived by his parents Ross and Ilene (Babcock) Annett, his wife Jennifer (Horn) Annett, sister Janice Annett of Dresden, and brothers Jerry & Karen Annett of St. Clair Township, and Bev & Wendy Annett of Mildmay. Brother-in-law of Laurie & Paul Hurst of Durham, Steve & Heather Horn and Paul & Tammy Horn, all of Listowel, and loved by his many nieces and nephews.

Son-in-law of the late Samuel & Lois (Ludwig) Horn.

The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, on Thursday, May 5th at 11:00 a.m. The service will be live-streamed.
