Obituary for Dorothy Cox

Dorothy Margaret (Fraser) Cox of Listowel passed away at Caressant Care, Listowel, on Thursday, June 3, 2021, in her 93rd year.

Beloved wife of John ‘Jack’ Cox for 72 years.

Mother of Ken & Carol Cox of Palgrave, Larry & Nancy Cox of Waterloo, Murray & Sylvia Cox, and Jim & Lynn Cox, all of Listowel, Brian & Susan Cox of Henfryn, Bruce & Karyn Cox of Atwood, Dianne Cox & Carolyn Dixon of Barrie, and Karen & Albert Tiw of Burlington. Loved by her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents D. Milton & M. Luella (Shaw) Fraser, and brother Robert Fraser.

Born January 26, 1929 in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, Dorothy moved to Canada at age 4 when her parents bought a farm in Morris Township near Bluevale. At age 20 she married Jack and moved to Grey Township until they retired from farming in 1981. They moved to Atwood, and finally Listowel.

Through a shared life with Jack, filled with family, faith, and farming, Dorothy's endless energy found outlets in her other many joys. She loved her church, knitting, quilting, baking, dancing, traveling, playing cards, and of course cheering for her beloved Blue Jays, but nothing filled her heart with more joy than spending time with her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Private family visitation will take place at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Sunday, June 6, 2021 followed by a private family funeral service at 1:30 p.m. with Ruth Long officiating. The funeral service will be live-streamed, and we ask you to watch safely from your home.

Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Ethel.
