Obituary for Fran Hutchings

Fran Hutchings ~ Passed away peacefully with her family beside her, on Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at the Grove Park Home, Barrie, in her 91st year.

Beloved wife of the late Warren Leonard ‘Wally’ Hutchings.

Beloved mother of Donna, Mary Ann, and Warren and his wife Jan.

Loving grandmother of Scott and wife Jaime, Breanna and husband Steve, and Lauren, and great-grandmother of Tyson.

She will also be lovingly remembered by her sisters Rose Rocchio of Mississauga, and Annie Rudichuk of Brampton, her half-sister Laura Simpell of Toronto, and by many other family members and friends.

Predeceased by her parents Frank and Annie (Castellano) Bonise, and siblings Joe Bonise, Tony Bonise, Helen Lush, Kay Waterman, Mary Chiapperino, Phil Lacey, and Lee Dunlop.

Frances was born in Wolf Creek, Alberta, on July 8, 1928. At the age of 14, she moved with her family to Toronto. As a young adult, Frances was employed in the fabric industry. In 1950, she met the love of her life, Wally. After their marriage, the focus of her career was to raise her family.

In 1959, Fran and Wally moved their family to North Hollywood, California. They returned to Canada in 1968 and settled in Listowel where they resided for 43 years. Fran was an active participant in many community activities and service clubs, including the Listowel Rotary Club, Trinity United Church, bible study groups, bridge clubs, Listowel Curling Club, and the Listowel Legion.

Fran’s greatest passion was spending time with her family and friends. She was an accomplished painter, fabulous cook, and took tremendous pride in her home.

Visitation will be held at Trinity United Church, Listowel, on Saturday, June 15th from 10:00 until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Reception to follow.

Memorial donations to Trinity United Church, Listowel, or Grove Park Home, Barrie, would be appreciated.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the compassion and outstanding quality of care that was provided by both Roberta Place Retirement Lodge and Grove Park Home in Barrie.
