Howard John Bender of Listowel passed away peacefully at home on Sunday, December 20, 2020, in his 87th year.

Beloved husband of Marybelle (Spence) Dittmer. Proud father of Barbara & Ric Coghlin of Atwood, Barry & Mary Jane Bender of Listowel, and Bonnie & Dean Williams of Atwood.

Grandfather of Chad & Dorothy Coghlin, Kyle & Lyndsay Coghlin, Justin & Cassie Coghlin, Katelyn & Kevin Squibb, Michaela & Grant Roberts, and Colin Williams. Loved also by 11 great-grandchildren.

Brother of Lorraine & Herb Henkenhaf of Underwood, Marlene & Jim Henderson of Listowel, Dianne & Bob Henkenhaf of Port Elgin, and Adele Payton of Kitchener.

Also remembered by Marybelle’s family.

Predeceased by his first wife Dorine (Hewitt) Bender, his second wife Barbara Pinkney, his son Brad Bender, brother Orville 'Ike' Bender, and infant siblings Marie and Walter.

A private family funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Listowel on Wednesday, December 23, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. The funeral will be live-streamed.
