Obituary for Jannet Lane

Jannet Lynn (Vere) Lane passed away peacefully at her home in Brussels on Sunday, December 4, 2022, in her 63rd year.

Loving wife of Patrick Lane.

Mother of Mandy & Jason Sproat of Port Elgin, Leanne & Brian Verkley of Pickering, Joey Vinen of Listowel, Levi Lane of Grand Bend, Shawn Lane and Chené of Exeter, and Steven & Vanessa Lane of Lucan. Proud grandmother to Hadley, Jayden, Easton, Jensyn, Beckett, Lyndyn, Denver, Mylee, Diane, and Harrison.

The oldest of three girls, Jannet was a beloved sister to Maria ‘Charly’ Chamney of Wiarton, and Nancy & Kent Selinger of Listowel. She will be dearly missed by her nieces and nephews, Natasha & Korey Goetz, Brittany & Kevin Stubbard, Megan Selinger & Paul Meyer, and Dustin & Rachel Chamney.

Predeceased by her parents Floyd Vere and Connie (Hall) Vere, nephew Myles Selinger, and by her brother-in-law Steven Chamney.

Born in Listowel on January 7, 1960, Jannet and her family lived in many different places in Canada, but she always returned back to the Southwestern Ontario community that she loved and held dear, and raised all three of her children in Listowel.

While Jannet faced many health challenges throughout her life, she trusted in God to give her the strength to continue caring for her loved ones and kept a positive attitude throughout. Her deep faith and love in Jesus was a constant source of comfort to her and she was always ready and willing to provide support and love to others.

A private family funeral service will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel, on Wednesday, December 7th with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel.
