Obituary for Joan Hemsworth
Joan Dorothea (Shane) Hemsworth of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, March 1, 2021, in her 83rd year.
Mother of Jon Hemsworth & Mihaela Danila of Listowel, and Patrice Hemsworth & Carlos De Leon of Waterloo, and grandmother of Avery Hemsworth.
Predeceased by her parents Nat & Dorothy (Smith) Shane.
After working for Bell Canada for 20 years, Joan then joined her dear friend Joanne Dahl in opening a lady’s fashion business in Listowel called The Clothes Line, which they operated for about 10 years. Joan was an active volunteer around Listowel helping to raise money for the Listowel Library and Listowel Memorial Hospital. Joan was also an active member of the Listowel Curling Club with many good times had with dear friends and teammates Joanne Dahl, Joan Rutherford, Marlene Pruden, and Mary Ellen Conners.
A private family service will be held with interment in Woodland Cemetery, Kitchener.
Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or North Perth Public Library would be appreciated, and may be made through the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel.
