Obituary for Lois Proctor

Lois Marlene (Cosens) Proctor of Listowel, passed away suddenly on Saturday May 8, 2021, at Listowel Memorial Hospital, at the age of 65 years.

Lois was born in Palmerston on June 13, 1955. Left to mourn her passing are her husband and best friend Dan Proctor, her sister Marie (Phil) Parsons, stepdaughters Kate Proctor, and Kelly (Michael) Sutherland, mother-in-law Madeline Proctor, sisters-in-law Kerry (Greg) Watson, Colleen (Dave) Gibson, and several nieces and nephews.

From the time they were born, Aunt Lois was always an important person in the lives of her niece Erin (Andrew) Birkner, and her nephews Brad (Sakae) Parsons, and Brenden (Katherine) Parsons.

Predeceased by her parents Harold and Beatrice (Nelson) Cosens, and her father-in-law Jack Proctor.

Lois dedicated her life to working with special children and adults, first at the Midwestern Regional Centre, and then as an Educational Assistant for the Avon Maitland District School Board. Lois loved her job and celebrated the successes of the children she worked with.

She loved her family and she enjoyed family celebrations. Lois and Dan enjoyed spending time in Tobermory and Thanksgiving weekends at the cottage with the Proctor family. She was proud of her stepdaughters Kate and Kelly. Lois will always be remembered for her kind and generous nature, her wicked sense of humour, and her pride in her family. She loved and was loved in return.
