Violet Marion (Marks) Simpson passed away at Palmerston Hospital on Saturday, January 29 2022, in her 91st year. Born at home in Lebanon, Maryborough Township to Arnetta (Keeso) & Colonel James Marks; during her life she lived in Listowel, Elmira, Durham, Owen Sound and Wingham, moving to Royal Terrace Retirement home in Palmerston one year ago.

Wife of the late Jack Simpson for 55 years.

Mother of Connie & Rev. Dr. Mark Harris of Kitchener, and Steven & Denise Simpson of Owen Sound.

Loving Grandmother of Caleb & Ashleigh, Kyle & Corina Harris, Laura Harris & Jordan Sewell, and Samantha & Casey Grahlman, and Great-grandmother of Mya, Benson and Sierra Grahlman, and Penelope and Wyatt Harris.

Survived by sister Carol Gilmore, sisters-in-law Janice Marks, and Sandra Simpson, and brother-in-law Howard Simpson. Dear aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her sisters June Fothergill, Helen Marks, and Diane Marks-Palmer, brothers Jack and Jim Marks, brothers-in-law Glen Bender, Bill Gilmore, Gordon Schneider, Edwin Fothergill, Harold Simpson, and Harold Metcalfe, and sisters-in-law Marjorie Metcalfe, Betty Simpson, Violet Schneider, and Dorothy Marks.

In keeping with Marion’s wishes and respecting COVID precautions, a private family funeral service will be held at Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Saturday, February 5 2022 at 11:00 a.m. led by nephew Rev. Larry Schneider. Spring interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. The service will be live-streamed.
