Obituary for Norm Fairles

Robert Norman Fairles of Listowel passed away at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Saturday, June 4, 2022, in his 89th year.

Husband of Edna (Sanderson) Fairles.
Father of Jim & Mary Lou Fairles of Elora, Julie & John McKercher of Wroxeter, and Jan & Wayne Faust of Kurtzville.

Grandfather of Jamie & Krista Fairles of Toronto, Chris Fairles of Kitchener, Lauren & Mike Longo of Toronto, Erin & Shaun Walker of Kirkland Lake, Holly Mitchell of Stratford, Emily & Steve Wideman of Trowbridge, Erica & Evan Zinn of Fordwich, and Evan & Amy Faust of Jamestown, and great-grandfather of Carter, Adelaide, Aurora, Elliott, Kaden, Jack, James, Kylie, Megan, Avery, Breanne, Logan, and Abigail.

Brother of Elford Fairles of Ajax.

Norm was born and raised on a farm near Stouffville, Ontario. On September 19, 1953 he married his highschool sweetheart Edna and they settled on the farm. In April of 1963 they moved their young family of Jim, Julie and Jan and herd of dairy cows to the farm they had purchased on Hwy 87 near Gorrie. They quickly became involved in many community and church organizations. Norm was Reeve of Howick Township from 1985 to 2003, and Warden of Huron County in 2001.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Thursday from 2:00 to 4:00 & 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. with a Masonic Lodge Memorial Service at 6:30 p.m.

Funeral service will be held at Trinity United Church, Listowel on Friday, June 10, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Gorrie Cemetery. The service will be live-streamed.
