Obituary for Ron Hartman

Ronald Albert Hartman of Listowel passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, at Listowel Memorial Hospital on Friday, July 22, 2022, in his 82nd year.

Loving partner of Dorie Wagner. Dear father of Robbi-Lynn & Tino Manzano of St Thomas, and Kerri & Andrew Del Medico of Bolton. Proud grandfather of Lisa, Selena and Jordan Manzano and Salem and Micaela Del Medico. Brother of Joyce Baranski of Guelph and Marlene Hutchison & Gerard Heroux of Ottawa. He was ‘Uncle Ron’ to many nieces and nephews, and will be remembered also by Willa Wick of Harriston. Predeceased by his parents Roy & Dorothy (Sothern) Hartman, and by his nieces Debbie Taylor and Tracey MacFarlane.

Ron was born in Wallace Township on March 10, 1941. He lived on the family farm until he moved to Gowanstown where he and Willa raised their family. Ron had a rewarding 42 year career at Campbell Soup company where he made lifelong friends.

He was very involved in baseball and hockey in his younger years. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed many great fishing trips with the guys, camping and the Arran Lake cottage with his family. Later on, he and Dorie enjoyed cottage life in Point Clarke where they loved entertaining family and friends.

Ron was a lifelong member of St Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, where he served on council and sang in the choir.

Visitation will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel on Monday from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, Listowel, on Tuesday, July 26, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Reception to follow at the Listowel Legion. The service will be live-streamed.
