Obituary for Ronald Bingham

Ronald George Bingham of Listowel, passed away on Sunday, October 2, 2022, at the age of 86.

Beloved husband of the late Molly Bingham. Father of Tim & Ann Bingham, and Bill Bingham, all of Listowel. Grandfather of Billy & Mary Bingham, Alanna & Dan Levis, and Brandon Bingham.

Great-grandfather of Logan, Delaney, Keira, Victoria, Bekah, Ethan, Miles, and Mackenzie, and great-great-grandfather of Ben and Morgan.
Lovingly remembered by his brother Bill & Marj Bingham, and sister Adah Gibbs, all of Georgetown, and by his many nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by his parents Bill & Annie (Wolf) Bingham, and siblings Bob Bingham, Margaret Bingham, Christina Bingham, Nancy & Bud Leavoy, brother-in-law Bud Gibbs, and by his parents-in-law Forest & Bea (Urquhart) Cooper.

Ron was born on December 24, 1935 in Matheson, Ontario. He married Molly Cooper on November 16, 1957. In 1962, he began his career with the OPP, and was proud of his service in Cochrane, Hearst, and Listowel. After serving as the Listowel Sergeant Detachment Commander, Bing retired in 1992.

Dad met everyone with a friendly smile and words of encouragement. He loved curling, golf, hunting, and fishing. He was a supportive member of Bernard Masonic Lodge, Listowel, and the Pal Mocha Shrine Club, and served as District Deputy Grand Master in 1993. He was known for his great attendance at the Listowel Junior Cs and Bs hockey games, and was a proud member of the Listowel Legion.

A Celebration of Bing’s life will be held on Friday, October 7, 2022 at Parkview Gardens, Listowel (Listowel Legion) from 1:00 until 4:00 p.m. A Masonic Lodge Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by the funeral service at 1:15 p.m. Rev. Ralph Dwarika officiating.
