Obituary for Wilma Anderson

Wilma Joyce (Shorey) Anderson, formerly of Winnipeg, Kingston and Cornwall, passed away in love and comfort at Listowel Memorial Hospital on the evening of Friday September 9, 2022, in her 86th year.
Predeceased by her loving husband Norman Lloyd Anderson. Loving mother of Andrew (Leslie) Anderson of Winnipeg, Amanda (Brian) Szandtner of Toronto, and Patricia (Chris) Fievoli of Gowanstown, and godmother of Danny (Laurie) Shorey of Harrowsmith. Mom will be remembered by her grandchildren Rebecca (Nate), Aaron, April, Ashley, Gillian, and Eva. Daughter of the late Henry William and Mary Rebecca Shorey (née Barrie). Dear sister of Verlan (Margaret) Shorey of Brockville and the late Norman Shorey, and sister-in-law of Violet Shorey of Maxville.
Our dear Mother was born and raised in Cornwall, Ontario. Prior to meeting Dad, amongst Mom’s fondest memories were with her family, fishing and learning how to drive her car with Uncle Art, traveling to the United Kingdom and working at Howard Smith Paper Mills. In 1962, Mom and Dad were married. Being a military family, Mom, Dad and their family lived coast to coast. Mom will be dearly missed by so many friends who loved her visits, playing cards, fun outings and the sharing of sweets. Mom loved reading, movies, games, bingo, casino trips, brooches, yarn creations and nature. She was the most amazing seamstress and embroiderer. We would be remiss if we did not express how much Mom loved all the animals that shared her path. She always had biscuits for the dogs in her family and neighbourhood. Mom loved dogs! Mom was always up for the next journey, whether a quick drive to the store or a longer trip to visit friends and family in Cornwall, Chatham and everywhere in between. We will miss you so much Mom, until we are together again we love you always and forever.
We would like to thank the staff at Listowel Memorial Hospital for the excellent care that Mom received in her final hours.
Private family arrangements have been entrusted to the Eaton Funeral Home, Listowel. Interment in Cataraqui Cemetery, Kingston.
Memorial donations to the Humane Society, or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.
