As Michael (son) and I traveled to and fro between Viginia (parents) and Newfoundland (home) many many times we were always welcomed with an open door by Leonard and Doris as we passed by on the trans-Canada. That was the best part of the trip always with a warm shower, night's rest, and lovely breakfast before continuing on. Leonard always had so many experiences and stories to tell. Yes, he was the ultimate life-long learner; always interested in everything! Fond memories. Peace and comfort to his family and to Doris.
The preliminaries are painful, but the finale is glorious, I am sure. In the words of Leonard Cohen, "May everyone live, and may everyone die. Hello my Love, and my Love, goodbye." My big brother Leonard was quiet, curious and innovative. Warm memories!
