Brian Johnson
Brian Johnson ~ At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Sunday July 2nd 2017, Brian Howard Johnson, in his 60th year after a courageous battle with cancer.

He leaves a loving family. Son of Marjorie Johnson of Listowel, brother of Barry Johnson and Julia Martin, and Wendy Pratt and Tim Gross, all of Kitchener, Cheryl and Stew Horton of Liverpool, N.S., Denise and Hamilton Ballagh of Palmerston, and April Johnson and Jim Anger of Wingham. Uncle of Shannon Davidson, Michael Pratt and Cameron Campbell, Josh and Sarah Horton, Trevor Pratt, and Mathew Ballagh. Great Uncle of Isabella, Wesley, Hayden and Kamryn. Predeceased by loved father Howard and niece Holly Ballagh.

Born June 12th 1958 in Listowel, Brian was raised in Linwood and spent time in Atwood and Milverton before settling in Listowel for the last 18 years. For over 20 years Brian worked at Spinrite Yarn in Listowel.

Brian deeply valued the friendships he developed at the Milverton and Listowel Legions where he was a long time member. Brian was also an active member of the Milverton Kinsmen where he served as president for one year. He had a passion for baseball which he played for many years. During the summer all conversations with Brian included commentary on his beloved Blue Jays and in winter his equally beloved Maple Leafs.

In living his life, Brian embodied and extended the legacy of his father “Happy Howard” as a generous, carefree, happy spirit who had a smile, a laugh and a kind word for all within his wide circle of friends and extended family.

A private family service conducted by Rev. Ralph Dwarika will be held at the Eaton Funeral Home in Listowel on Thursday July 6th. A Public Celebration of Brian’s life will follow at the Listowel Legion from 1 pm to 3 p.m. Interment at Greenwood Cemetery, Milverton.

The family would like to extend special thanks to Dr. Warren, the nurses and staff of Listowel Memorial Hospital for their kind and compassionate care.

Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.
