At Listowel Memorial Hospital on Monday, November 28, 2005, Mrs. Emma Bernice Smith of Listowel, in her 88th year. Beloved wife of the late Elwood Smith. Dear mother of Ted and Anne-Marie Smith of Listowel, and Linda and Harry Hicks of R.R. #1, Kincardine. Grandmother of Kevin Smith, Val and Todd Wilken, Dave and Debbie Senek, Kevin and Krista Denstedt, Patricia and Barry Wark, and Robert and Sarah Hicks. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren.
Predeceased by her parents Arthur and Lottie (Hefford) Roach, her sister Lorna Hoehn, and her brother-in-law Art Hoehn. Bernice was the first president of the Craddle Club at the Listowel Memorial Hospital. She was a loving woman, and very supportive of her husband Elwood in all of his ventures.
Visitation will be held at the Robert Trench Funeral Home, Listowel on Wednesday, 2:00-4:00 and 7:00-9:00 p.m. where the funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 1st at 2:00 p.m. Reverend Brad Beale officiating. Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Listowel. Memorial donations to Listowel Memorial Hospital Foundation or Christ Anglican Church, Listowel would be appreciated.
