Dear Pat and family, So sorry to hear of Alex's passing. He was a wonderful principal and teacher (Grade 6). Also spoke when I saw him (and you of course) in all the years that have passed. Take care of yourself now Pat, and remember all the great times you had together as a family.. I still remember him coming into Turbitts and telling you (on more than one occasion) of a beautiful dress or outfit he had seen at one of the ladies stores and he wanted or already had bought it for you..... Bonnie Mitchell, Viola MacKay and myself always thought that it was soooo sweet.

Alex was one of those unique Individuals who had a tremendous impact on his staff, students and community. I always enjoyed working with Alex as a fellow principal and learned a great deal from him with regard to interacting and communicating with staff, students and parents. I always loved his hearty laugh and wonderful sense of humour. We need a lot more people like Alex in this world today. He will be sorely missed. Gerry Krug.

Pat and family, we are so saddened to hear of the loss of Alex. He holds a special place in our hearts. If Alex hadn't hired me to teach at Wallace back in 1982, I would not be here with my husband, David, my two boys, Ben and Josh, their spouses and our grandchildren. He was always so supportive of me throughout my career. It was special to meet you and Alex in the grocery store, and catch up on our lives. David remembers having you as next door neighbours, and Alex studying for his principal courses!
Alex loved all of you so much. You were lucky to have him as a husband, father and grandfather. Cherish those memories. He will live on in all of you.
With love, David and Shelley Blackmore
